Why Mulch?

It's no secret; a freshly mulched garden looks stunning. But the reason you apply mulch to your landscape is more complicated than just aesthetics. In short- you are preparing your future soil. Most homeowners meticulously clean their gardens of leaves, sticks and other detritis that would be commonly know as "duff" in a forest. Duff is like vitamins for the soil; it provides protection and nutrients for the flora and the fauna living in it. Mulch breaks down over the course of time and gives back to your depleted soil so that your garden can remain healthy, protected and vibrant. I could go on and on (and I will if you ask me!) but we can stop here. Mulch is an essential for garden soil.  You should protect your investment.
